Odyssey systen requirements ..

I'm in a similar boat with a GT 1030, but its an alpha and optimisations are coming- they have to really, otherwise PS4 and XB guys are stuffed.
Ya i hope so if not i want me $$$ back ..
if the alpha doesnt improve much a 1080ti is a struggle at the moment.
damn it , well they have work to do , if they cannot get it together by offical release ill get a refund
Yep I was under the same impression too so I hope they will improve it cause right now its playable only or mostly for some crazy high end pc builds. Yes I know its alpha but they should tell us before they put the preorders on.

what they didn't say is that what they call alpha is a very much work in progress crude aficionado attempt at reinventing the fps genre. this uncomfortable truth is just progressively transpiring with every new bit of "alphaaaaaaa testing" information and, know what, the forums have never been so amusing.

and as this is pre-beta i would expect there to be many attempts at optimisation so hopefully, specs may lower before beta hits. even if specs dont change the performance of the game should improve
my machine handles ED pretty well but in odyssey so far its hitting a wall at 30fps at 100%.. without tweaking it down
if youve purchased Odyssey and want a refund then you need to request if from whom ever you purchased from: iirc Steam refunds are pretty easy especially for pre-orders
if you purchased direct from FDev then youll need to request a refund from customer support iirc FDev support takes arround 72hours to process requests
for both FDev and Steam so long as the game is still pre-order and not released you should be able to hold fire on requesting a refund until closer to release date
edit: as an example im not seeing any performance degradation between FXAA and AA off, although you can clearly see FXAA is working

Minimum doesn't mean it won't run, it is a guide as to what to expect at a given resolution. Though with this beta it is still pretty much a guess.
Given that you have a proper GPU the game will most likely run just you will have to turn down settings probably below 720p to get decent performance out of it.
