Odyssey - Terminal screen issue.

When accessing the Terminals in station, there are 2 issues:

  • If you don't have the entire screen in view when you access them then the screen activates but you can't see all of it, so you can't see what your cursor is on or what you are selecting. Also you can't move any more once the screen is active so you can't move so that you can see the rest of the screen. You have to exit the screen before you can reposition yourself.
  • Once you activate the screen the mouse is released from the game and, if you use multiple monitors then this tends to result in the mouse cursor going onto another screen unintentionally and when you click it moves window focus to something on another screen instead of clicking on what you wanted to in the game.
I have a suggestion that would resolve both of these issues.

When you activate a Terminal at the moment it stays as you viewing the screen on the terminal and only goes to full screen once you select 'Missions' or whatever you are looking for.

Just have the Terminal screen go to full screen straight away when you activate the screen. Simple?
 
I’d like if the terminal was simply centered in our view - reposition the player to be looking at it straight on instead of at whatever off-angle we were standing when we first selected it. Posture.

That wouldn't resolve the other issue for players using multiple monitors though. Also the screen goes to full screen as soon as you click on some options in the screen so why not just have it go full screen straight away?

maybe this should be an additional selectable setting, some prefer what they choose to call immersion

ie terminals: show what im looking at or always show fully centred terminal display or allow the player to look around or reposition their viewpoint

Maybe but for that to be a valid point then the rest of the interface that currently goes to full screen anyway (like the mission board) would have to be made to not go full screen and I think it would be too small to read everything from your normal POV. I am guessing that is why some of the interface goes full screen anyway.

To be honest the first screen is hard for me to read from the normal POV anyway.
 
chances are the ways these terminals and screens work is still in the early stages, waiting for player feedback.

so far in the screen or mission internactions there's too much inconsistency for my liking, one miniute i can click to confirm then the next im pressing space

when i say full centred i didnt realy mean show everything at once, by fully centred think more like how those screens appear in ED original

The mission board is in the starport services menu in ED original, which is full screen. Everything in starport services is full screen.
