[Odyssey] Textures not loading no matter what settings

So I've been trying to adjust the graphic settings but no matter what I do it seems the textures are loading veeery slowly (so far tested in tutorial locations, ships and planetary base) or in some other locations not at all (space stations). I have decent fps (idk how much but game runs smooth) and it just seems like game is not even trying to load textures and proper geometry no matter if settings are set to low, medium high or ultra. Sometimes it loads some textures (suit, ship interior, and ship exterior) but other stuff like environment or NPCs clothes still looks ugly. I have NVIDIA GTX 1060 3Gb, AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 32 Gb RAM so technically I meet the minimal requirements.

My question is if the graphical issue is just a not yet resolved bug which maybe fixed with an update, or is there something I can do on my end - and yes, I know my graphics card is not and High-end but I just wonder if there is something I can do to improve performance before I upgrade.

Thanks in advance for any clues on the matter, o7 CMDRs!

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I already updated my drivers AND already wiped the graphical settings files in local ED directory as recommended

Seems, the super sampling has the highest impact on texture loading. Still after lowering it it's highly dependent from location (planetary settlements seems to take longer to load than space ones, probably due to terrain textures loading as well). Thanks for help MickyG1982, your solution helped a little, I still hope devs will optimize it a little

I am having the same issues. Waiting on optimization because nothing really helps. Able to play Horizons on High/Ultra but Odyssey wont load textures even with all the settings lowered to minimum and on 720p.... ugh.

That happens to me after using the system map or booking a taxi, sometimes the textures load in, sometimes they don't. A quick (though hardly ideal) workaround is to log out to the main menu & log in again this allows the textures to load up properly.

tried to logout to main menu and then back in. it loads for only a second or two (not always) - then texture breaks again.

Yep this is definitely already observed the moment your ship model loads at the text screen, but things like stars no longer load all of their assets. Normally you can see fire spouting and dancing off of the surface and low they’re just 32bit looking with low resolution models for the fire. Planet surfaces have some struggles loading, but I linked this to being tied to the blue scan overlay after scanning a planet, once you get past the blue overlay, which ends at dropping to a glide, the atmosphere and texture just appear out of nowhere. The blue overlay should be able to be turned off but I can’t figure it out on game pad.

So I think this is an issue that crops up with specifically graphics cards that have only 3GB. I have a 1060 3GB which runs the game ok, but I'll see clear instances of 3D models being rendered with as few triangles as possible making things look very ugly (Especially curved things like the elevator pods). Meanwhile, a streamer I was watching who had a 1060 6GB graphics didn't experience the problem, so I guess this stuff is happening because the card runs out of memory to store everything so over compensates with model quality.

In particular it's a real problem if you're trying to use the 50 round clip automatic plasma rifle because the sight gets rendered as a solid block you can't look through, making the weapon unusable upward of medium ranges.

I have the same issue. I have already noticed in the alpha but now it seems worse to me. Before ship's textures was ok outside the hangar, in space and in planets. now there are missing textures on the ship's exterior also in space. Doors in settlements and hangars are terrible and also many world's objects (like crates). weapons are almost only polygons. Suits are a little better but are still bad. I see that there are several reports, in the issue tracker, regarding the same problem also on medium/high spec pc's. It seems to be not a secondary issue, this and all the bugs together makes a very bad mix. I am on
i3-10100F CPU 3.60GHz
nvidia gtx1050 2gb ddr5

Just an update:
The optimization update worked for me! All texture rendering problems that i was experiencing are gone! Fps is lower than in Horizons but is way better than before and smooth on mostly High settings. Tankyou Frontier for the quick fix!

I also have a GTX 1060 3Gb & have identical problems.
seems its somehow related to lowertier gpu.. i have same issue. looks ugly((
bought SSD yesterday. it did not help
they should do something definitely. not the best time to buy new GPU and they should understand this.

For info, I've been playing today since the new hotfix went live and it looks like assets are being managed much better now - Not seeing insanely over simplified models anymore.
