EG an autopilot that does a couple things. I can manually pilot out at maybe one jump per 45 seconds (Edit 1 min 8 sec - timed myself from hitting Jump to hyperspace travel, honk while fuel scooping to Jump again.) if I honk etc (maybe faster). I think the off line autopilot should be limited to say one jump per 5 minutes. The autopilot should also only be able to select a destination you have already been to before. No buffs on jumps would be available. Limited to mainline stars - Say MKGFAB stars. The plot should be preplanned when you log off. Your computer should be smart enough to insist you have a fuel scoop before you can enable autopilot.
The next option would be to hire a transport pilot. Spaceship Transport Pilots would be available for hire at large stations only and would specialize in a route. They should always be available though (not a coin flip). Jump rates should still be slower than under manual control but faster than autopilot (say one jump per 2 or 3 minutes minutes). You go to a station and see what hubs can be accessed via TP. While offline, you ship would automatically move toward the hub at a consistent rate. You would get no credit for honking etc while in transit. If you log back in, you could take over and jump faster but also log off and proceed under the TP to your destination. Rates to hire a TP would be low for the bubble and much higher to say go to Colonia. Ship size should also matter as you would need to hire a higher class TP.
Perhaps we could hire as a TP as well? Hmmm but if you crash the ship or get in a battle, your ratings go way down/ become an outlaw.
