Off on a year long mission.

At 20:30 hours on the 23rd December I jumped off from Bottego Base in they Hyades Sector - the last outpost I could find in inhabited space. Since then I have been heading out towards the rim, past Barnards loop and the Horsehead and Orion nebula's in my exploration Asp the Corvus Nova.

Here's a nice shot of all 3.

My task is simple - a year long exploratory mission. I am going to miss out on a lot of interesting stuff whilst I am off exploring and should be returning sometime after the release of the next expansion. I will periodically update this log with any interesting finds I make.

Wish me luck fellow commanders :)

Just a quick one - Despite my exploration rank being Ranger I still don't know the answer to this question:

If you are the first to discover a system but somebody else discovers it after you and gets back with the data before you do...do they get credited with the first discovery...I suspect this is the answer but would just like a confirmation :D

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

First to sell the data gets the bonus and naming right.

Taking wagers on:

- how long until space madness draws him back to the bubble
- death by Asp canopy structural design flaw (who puts the glass in front of the front bumper/crumple zone?!)
- death by unscoopable star- ship stranding
- Death by not bringing AFM nor rover to restock AFM- and a few too many emergency drops from FSD
- death by UmadBro Troll Anaconda in literally the middle of nowhere.
- Death and rage uninstall by UmadBro Troll 5LS from cartographic cashing in station
- odds of a completely safe and enjoyable experience
- odd of being the One to find It.

:D
