Offered missions to a starport while flying a large ship. Am I missing something?

Over the last half hour, I've been offered missions and even imperial navy ascension missions to HIP 109203 which has only one starport, Sweet City. I'm in HIP 108344. I thought you couldn't land with a large ship on a starport? Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Here is a screenshot:

Only places you can't dock large ships are outposts which only have medium or small pads.

Yes. Also in the mission description you will see "(Outpost)" next to the station name if it's an outpost (where you can not land) so it should be clear even if it's offered to you.

The description's not there for all missions IIRC. Smuggling missions have it for sure. I haven't done any navy ones for months though because the rank progression is (still!) screwed up.

its not a bug the people at the station simply have jobs for you but its your problem if the ship isnt compatible

Bizarre. I've seen missions that were unavailable because it was at an outpost (the name of the outpost with "Outpost" at the end was in red).

Speaking of which, it seems that since I switched to a larger ship, I'm almost never offered a smuggling mission anymore. While flying a smaller ship, I would be offered 2 or 3 missions at the same starport. Now, I get one here and there. Is there an explanation for that? I can understand that by having a larger ship, that restricts the missions available but I still think I should be offered more. It's as if I was having the plague all of a sudden! And that's from factions that I am allied with.

If you wanted to smuggle something into a system, would you give the job to the pilot of a small, fast, unobtrusive ship, or a dirty great huge, loud beast of a ship?

Hmmm, let me think? ;)

Also, it's good practice to check on the system map before accepting a mission, to ensure you can land there!

Your argument makes sense. I'm surprised a bit, given the number of issues still in the game, that the developers had added this kind of behavior in the game, but I'll take it.

I always check on map to see if I can land, of course!
