offering help to those that need it

hello CMDR's

over the past week or so i have seen a fair few people who have run out of fuel and been let down by the fuel rats, nothing against the fuel rats they do a great job but some times there is no one around to help and i full understand that. So in order to maybe save a few CMDR's from going poof i was thinking id start this thread and anyone who is looking for help but for some reason cant get it from the fuel rats (you must of at least tried to ask them for help) then you can post here and maybe there will be some one who can help, this is just to save from have a whole bunch of threads, we can just have a list of people willing to help here (il edit OP as people start to offer help)

so that said let me be the first to say i will indeed be ready to help if i can and welcome you all to the thread

(unless this fails in such a case this never happened and il shut up...)

I think anyone who needs saving and is on the forums will make their own thread asking for help as has been done most of the time and I don't think this thread will stay afloat. I don't really mind the threads asking about help either tbh.

its really just to get a list of CMDR's who are willing to help so when a thread like that shows up maybe someone will have an easier time finding some one to come save them

i did think about it however im not always going to be playing elite (i tend to leave the game for months at a time) just think its best not to say im always going to help, this way theres a nice list of other people that will help

We're always recruiting more X-Rats because we don't have that many to begin with ! And there are no time constraints, Real Life always comes first !

I registered yesterday. The IRC wasn't too talkative and i think people were busy so I didn't ask too many questions.

Going to book a drill tonight hopefully.

I'm waiting for a rogue faction within the Fuel Rats to rise, causing a civil war between Rats, distrust because you don't know who's really in the splinter and who isn't.

Would make a good book. Friend or Foe Rats.

This is probably what i will end up doing... Id assume since its a volunteer service(assumption) that joining the rats would be about the same as saying you may be able to help sometimes on here... Except if everyone who thought they could maybe help joined the rats theyd all have access to the infrastructure and information the rats have set up.

Whoever said there can be only ONE fuel-rescue service? Bring on the Hydrogen Heroes, Gas Dogs, Frameshift Friendship League, and Our Lady of Limpets.

Yes, it's all volunteer work. You come online, say that you're ready to rumble and once a signal goes off you state your intent to save by "calling jumps" (like "I'm 2 Jumps away"). And if you have to go offline you just say "see ya soon".

You might not have known it but we had competition at the start of our business, but our economic model was far more aggressive and they ended up disbanding. Now, we've got the monopole over the "branded" rescue service, but I know a few people in many groups that are doing what we do without calling themselves anything.
I mean, you got (as far as I know, there may be others) :

The Mobius Fuel Rats (they might be mobius only or fuel rats playing in mobius)
The East India Company has an internal rescue service.
The CODE looks out for its own.
EXO (Elite Xbox One) has an internal service
The Rock Rats (funded by Anuranium the allmighty) were on the DWE (Distant Word Expedition) and there was a cohort of DWE Rats hailing from our group.
The FGE knows how to handle things on their own.
FleetComms has an "emergency" channel ( even tho most of the time it's "go to the fuel rats" )
The Elite Dangerous SubReddit has an emergency channel too
That other Reddit thing does it too
Elite Dangerous Exploration emergency channel
The Hutton Truckers have been trained in the rescuing art too.

And that's just a few. What is mind-blowing isn't that we're the "only" recognized group, but that we've given birth to so many "spirit-child" services and people still come to us for Fuel. We could not exist without the people calling us !
