"Official" Models for Home 3D Printers

Hi folks,

I've searched the forums and found a few blueprints/fan-made models of ships like the Cobra Mk III that people have made/printed using a 3D Printer. I was curious if Frontier might consider releasing (low-resolution?) versions of some of the ships or stations in Elite Dangerous to the 3D Printing community?

I built a reprap Prusa Mendel last year and am having a blast with it.

Thanks and keep up the great work on Elite Dangerous!

nice idea, especially as you can now buy a 3d printer in the high-street, maplin are selling a kit for £700.

someone on the forum found a site that will let you upload a 3D model and they'll make it into a physical object for you ... I'll try searching for it (but don't hold your breath)

not needed, he has his own 3d printer, just needs the models to print

RepRap Prusa Mendel 3D Printer Kit

£799.00 inc. VAT.
He might have his own 3D printer, but I don't have one .... and neither do a few others on this forum I suspect, and even if you do have a 3D printer, you still have to buy the raw materials for printing out.

I thought as it might be relevant, to dig up the thread I remembered,
I apologise and will never take any initiative to help anyone again
(and if you believe that ...)
