Firstly, Why elite 2? First Encounters was Arguably better, but heck, why not ask for the original Elite? or Rollercoaster Tycoon? or Outsider?
Secondly, why xbox? the console is rubbish, hated by anyone with a brain and owned by THE most evil corporation on the planet.
100% NOT signed. Not now, not ever.

I personally think David Braben should be locked in a room with a computer and some sandwiches, and not allowed out until he's written Elite IV
I agree with that sentiment!
Secondly,(I'm looking at YOU, Alien),its the system the majority of this generation of gamers have, not including the wii due to the controller set up. Its also the system I use and want to play it on.

We ALL want so badly to play an up-to-date Elite we get frustrated and wound up. I understand it well.

No that's the US market.
In Europe the PS3 does better.
could it be there are more brainless people there.
Or is it that average income is better so that people look for a more full featured and complete console, here in europ.
Because there are xbox360 wich are stripped down cheaper then Wii.
I see xbox360 like Toyota cars with there callback actions
and PS3 as a Lexus.
As we are used to our PS3 The only thing that comes close is the
xbox360 Elite we got the niewest type wich do a lot less RROD. The rumors say.
They could build a Elite remake on XNA for PC and Xbox360.

Interesting, because GTA IV is rendered in a higher resolution for the xbox than the ps3, so in some cases the xbox is actually delivering a better experience in terms of graphics.
Dunno Forza is pretty awesome, as is Ace Combat and Soul Calibur...
I have to say that for drop in, drop out gaming the XBox is actually really good. I honestly think that a game like FE2 (and I whole heartedly agree here with FE2 being the choice and not FFE as I believe that FE2 was a vastly superior game in it's feel) would gel quite nicely with the console UI and control setup. My concern is not for playing a game on a console or using a console controller but the limited nature of the graphical capability of them and the fundamental inability to mod a console based game.
Suggesting that the XBOX is a useless heap of junk tantamount to a doorstop is at best unfair and at worst plainly wrong. Imagine creating a piece of hardware in 2005 and knowing that it was going to remain a viable gaming apparatus for the next 4-5 years. There are over 50 million of them out there - it's a number that's hard to argue with.
Got to agree with you there Steve - I LOVE Forza and Ace Combat.
The 360 AND Ps3 would easily run ANY Elite, plus over network play would be awesome to behold, even if you were just witnessing combat from a distance!
It's funny how we get all defensive on the system/console we prefer.
I have the exact same argument with number one son on which control method is better keyboard or controller, I say keyboard as their is more finess, accuracy & skill he says controller for some unfathonable, strange & wierd reason. (Must be when he was dropped on his head as a baby.)
And, although I will alway be a PC gamer first and formost. I can see the benefits of the console (just). consoles are leading the way in control methods with the Wii controller, PS move and Kinect, and the PC is still at the Mouse and Keyboard stage. I bought my two the 360 & Kinect for xmas and its a very clever piece of equipment, when its not falling of the TV..... and my daughter (7yrs old going on 17) loves it as the sounds of her dancing and singing along to Dance Paradise indicate( my poor ears)
I did get challenged to a 1 on 1 with number one son only last night on the Xbox,and Im glad to say I preformed with great honour, grace and humility when I kicked his butt all over the place a victory for the original gamer generation as I'm approaching 40.....
