Offline download / download on another PC

Gaming Desktop. Not connected to a good enough internet with a high enough bandwidth quota.

A laptop I can not play with. But I can move it around to a place where I can get pretty awesome internet.

Any thoughts on what I can do? Is it possible to download the entire game on the laptop and move the appropriate content to the desktop once done?

Why not setup "Internet Connection Sharing" on your laptop, and run an ethernet cable from the laptop to the Gaming PC's network card. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/using-internet-connection-sharing#1TC=windows-7

Otherwise, think about a Wireless Bridge. I use an Asus EA-N66 at home, and it's a pretty slick piece of kit, and not so expensive. http://www.asus.com/uk/Networking/EAN66/

You probably could yes. Worth a try.

Once downloaded and copied over to your desktop, log in to the launcher and click your account name top right.
This gives an option to validate game files, which IMO, should rectify anything that is missing... since the files will be there, it should not need to re-download anything other than perhaps settings files etc.

The machines aren't in the same room. Not even in the same zip code.

To the OP, I am hoping there is, as I am in a similar situation. I play ED on a laptop (which is fine by the way). I believe that at present updates are only done via the launcher. I can only hope for the ability to download updates and other files as a stand alone .EXE so I can then transfer it to the computer with ED. (I know what you're thinking, you're thinking
"hey if it is a laptop just bring that") nope, not that simple. :)

So at present only the computer with the install can download updates to the best of my knowledge. When we get the release we can delve a little more into this as I am in the same situation as I have very poor internet and minimal bandwidth. (No I am not updating as it is way too expensive and I don't need it as I play everything offline). :)

You can just copy the whole game folder, run the installer, point to that directory, and instead of overwriting files, it will just verify them. This does require an internet connection, but it goes much faster than downloading the whole game again.

I have been looking at this, my home internet connection is 1.6Mb tops, but for some reason cant seem to find the game install directory ( should have paid attention at install!) and no folders appear to have the correct date :/

any suggestions as to the default install directory? I checked out the EDLauncher directory , no joy, and the same for a search for frontier on the hard drive, strange, I am missing something obvious im sure!

thanks to anyone who can help :)

Control Panel > Folder Options > Show Hidden Files And Folders

You have probably installed to C:\users\username\appdata\ which is hidden by default.
