"Oh     ! It's a corvette!"

Several times recently I have been interdicted by NPCs who I have scanned and they turn out to be flying different ships after the interdiction. The Asp driver becomes a Python pilot etc.

It's pointless interdicting anyone in a Corvette, cos anyone can just run. The corvette is so slow, you will never catch them.
Some bigger ships may fight, but most run when their hull starts dropping.
i don't even carry an interdicter in my vette because of this.

That's true for PvP encounters. In PvE, NPCs rarely run. For some reason, even less with a Corvette. I had more NPCs escape my T9 after interdicting me than lived through a corvette encounter.

Is the Corvette more a PvE ship then?

For me, it's also mostly Federal Assault/Gun/Dropships, Pythons and Anacondas that splatter on the windshield. Vipers take mostly only shield damage because they are light. Other enemies I find harder to ram. I think ramming is the most potent weapon on the 'vette. Only the endurance is limited, since the shields would have to recharge after a few attacks.
