Horizons Oh, so that's that then.

I am not sure what I was expecting of The Great Annihilator (Sag-A) but it certainly wasn't the insipid uninspiring Vortex-swirl I saw.

A long way to go for visual blandness. A bit like a trip to Madame Tussauds Waxworks where the gap between your imagination and the reality of the tatty-ness of it leaves you deflated.

Ho-Hum, only another 26,000LY to get back to the bubble and "home".

On the bright side, once you sell the scan data you never have to return ;)

I liked it, I thought The Great Annihilator was a little more of an interesting system to visit than SagA*.
The Black Hole effect has changed with various updates to the game, the current effect is a little bland I'll concede.

I wasn´t there yet but tbh I never understood the hype. Ok it´s the center of the galaxy but visually just another black hole. Only difference you have to enjoy the effects from a larger distance.
Same goes with very large stars. The only difference is the distance from where you, well, see them.

Hyperjump, then target the star in front of you:
2 ls = ok, tiny one.
800 ls = oh wow, big one.

If it wasn´t for the short zoom-in on hyperjump exit noone would notice the difference before looking at the distance. (or am I wrong? maybe in VR?)

Just to check... you do know that The Great Annihilator and Sag A* are two different black holes, right?
Also, you are really far away from it. Get closer and it gets way more exciting!
