This video points out something that I bet most of us, and the world at large, didn't notice in the slightest...
Remember on RCT2 that little scrolling image of "Infogrames" scrawled out with the armadillo?
Seems they purchased through fairly shady looking "Acquisitions" everything related to Atari as nothing more than a cash-in opportunity. This, to me at least, seems to scream out finally why everything with the "modern Atari" has been such a blatant disregard of, and disrespect of, the games of old and their fan base. This screams as to why they work they way they do. They are not a company that cares about the games, but just the money to be made off of them as they are an acquisitions company... not a gaming company. Yea... Now I don't know if I want to keep that faint and fading hope alive for RCTW, or just give up and get my money back on the preorder... if it's even possible at this point as I got it in the steam package... Yea.
What do you, my fellow peeps think?
I for one am VERY thankful that Frontier are no longer under the thumb of Atari... no wait, no longer under the thumb of Infogrames, as this proper sequel to everybody's favorite franchise is quite the amazing feat of game engineering. Thank you Frontier for doing the right thing and getting yourselves into a position to where you could make the coaster park sim of your (and everybody's) dreams
.
*And no I don't believe RCT as a francise is dead. Just withered due to lack of care on the part of it's handlers... though this could be the nail in the coffin.
**And Yes, I know that things are a LOT more complicated than just a renaming. But just keeping things here as basic as I can. The wiki page shows off the completely over-detailed stuff
