OK - am I being really thick here ?

I have just kitted out my new Diamondback Explorer.
I have a 25ly jump range.
The navigation screen only shows systems up to 19.9ly away but no more.
To get the extra I have to go through the galaxy map.
Is this normal ?

I think the navigation panel is limited to 20Lys

Seems that way unfortunately, my Type 6 has a range of a little of 25L/Y and its the same I can only jump to systems about 19 or so away without having to manually set the destination. Hopefully the update the ability to make jumps to however far your range is.

It isn't range that the display is limited by...it is number of systems displayed.

If you are out in a sparse, dimly lit neighborhood, you can see your full range in the UI since there aren't many places to jump to.

In many ways the galaxy map is a better option. You can plan routes and get info on where you are going. The down side is that if the one place you want to go 'in a hurry' is outside of the nav panel options you may be in the poo

It would be kinda nice if you could type in a system right from the left panel. I know where I'm going, I don't need the map every time, just let me type in the system name that I've memorized and plot a course.

I believe Monk is correct. When you're in the core the Nav panel will have about 20-ish systems all within 2 Ly, plus your current target system listed. And there are easily hundreds of systems within 20 LY.

I actually think it's both. Can anyone confirm if they've seen the navigation panel show anything more than 20LY's away?
