I have been looking for those settlements with irregular markers and not seeing them. There must be a trick I am missing or just not going to the right Star Systems. Been search moons in Anarchy systems to no avail. Any suggestions?

As far as I know, if you take a larceny mission to recover a synthetic pathogen or some such item from a smuggler’s hideout(the one with three containers), you should find it quite easily there.

That’s how I remember getting mine, at least.

But how have you been searching? HAB cabinets in Anarchies are usually full of all kinds of drugs.

Agricultural targets are good ones, since they often have large cabinets. One search on Inara for Odyssey Settlements with Anarchy (or Communist, if you don't mind the crime) near you with Agricultural economy will list good targets. Good systems will have several of them on the same system and be good places to run missions. This one is had 8 Hush and 4 Synthetic Pathogens, but it gives you an idea.

Lacerny Missions as pointed by Kira Goto are also very easy and also net you some Weapon Schematics.

Larceny missions plus SC reset is the way to go. Land, jump out, cut open all the containers, loot everything and the kitchen sink EXCEPT the mission target, get back to ship, launch, point up, jump to sc, immediately turn around, rinse, repeat. You can do that until you get sick of it, then take the mission target and be done with it. This is also the way to go if your mission target won't spawn at all, or is inaccessible due to "buried" containers.

Sometimes you will find scavengers there at first, so take dumb-fire missiles with you and nuke them from orbit.

Have they finally fixed that bug? I haven't seen scavs at a IR for maaaany updates.

Other than that, larceny missions--pick up all the stuffz in the containers and sell to the bartender at anarchist or communist stations for easy money.
