Ok, FD. Is it Achernar or Achenar?

What shall it be called in Elite: Dangerous?

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
I've been talking with Allen Stroud about the spelling. Seems in days of old (ie-Frontier), it was spelled Achenar:

http://www.frontierastro.co.uk/Gazetteer/achenar.html

However, there is no star named Achenar. There *is* an Achernar, though, which is what I always assumed was meant:

http://earthsky.org/brightest-stars/bright-achernar-ends-the-southern-river

Was this just a mistake? Will this be corrected in ED? How can I ever trust you again, FD? I thought we had something special! <sniff>

We need a poll! Does the community want accuracy or tradition? Two of the greatest forces of debate on the forums pitted against each other! :D

Strangely they are the exact same sounds I make if I stand on my daughters hairbrush in the morning....

But I'm not blaming FD for that.

Well... after a couple of 1000 years of linguistic evolution, some names are bound to change, no? ;)

Bah! Either FD changes it in the game or I'm changing my sig. Don't make me open that PSD file again, FD! I'm finally at peace with it, ok? :p

In regards to the wikipedia article I propose a name change to settle the question:

The indigenous Boorong people of northwestern Victoria named it as Yerrerdetkurrk

Yerrerdetkurrk, IS the correct answer. Just remember 5 "r's".

Interesting to note that it is also the least spherical star in the Milky Way, as it apparently spins so fast. No wonder the Imps are a strange bunch... :p

If the Feds and the Empire had a dance-off, the Feds would totally get served.

doesnt the achenar system's description mention something about some "quirky accent of imperial citizens" ?
