Ok Im buying this game

Guys, first of all Im from Spain, sorry for my bad english.

For a couple of weeks I was looking at this game closely, watching videos in youtube and reading everyday this forum and reddit. I had doubts because this game, like others, cost a lot of money (I just purchased a house, and I'm almost bankrupt right now lol) and so many negative comments on the grinding (I played some old school MMORPG games like ultima online, so I think this will not a problem for me).

I was a big fan of two awesome space series, cowboy bebop and firefly and always dreamed to have the chance to play a game like that and be, among other things, a bounty hunter. This game, as far I can see, offers a little bit of that. But I had doubts, I have so many games right now and play them so little because of my work that I feel a little bit of guilt (6 years and still didnt have finnished the main quest of skyrim, didnt finished GTAIV..., and I just bought cities skylines...), so, with my short cash flow right now... Im feeling guilty lol.

Then, today finally was the 1.3 annoucement, and... oh boy, Im speechless . Those factions and new features look amazing, its like sid meier's civilization, but in this case you are one of the units that through the actions and choices can help to change the course of your faction... wow. Just look at this screenshot:

Wow, just wow, I want to do that mission RIGHT NOW!!

That patch will change this game in a positive way and I think its just the beginning of something really HUGE! and the best part? I will start this game on my own, I will learn, travel, grow, and when I feel ready to join the action I will pick my faction (Alliance :D) and start to do something meaningful. That is the beauty of this game, you can do whatever you want and there is no rush. The only thing that worries me are the cheaters...

My thrustmaster X hotas is coming, as soon I have the joystick you guys will have a new born in that virtual milky way. Thanks frontier for bringing back that "game hype" that I lost a long time ago. And the coming planetside is just mindblowing, I dont know how something like that can be achieved with the current technology, I cant believe that can be done, but I hope so.

Thank you so much Frontier, and..... shut up and take my money (next month, I CANT WAIT!!!)

Glad to hear it :) I for one am going to use the 1.3 update to convince my friends who haven't gotten the game that now is the time

Whoah there Tex, you did research? :D

From one Alliance member to another, welcome. You're in for a blast.

Welcome aboard CMDR.

With you moving into a new house, I do hope you have carefully planned out and executed your gaming environmental space to fully enhance your Elite experience. If not, do it now!! :D

Welcome in friend! Glad you have studied the forum and a few vids - that will stand you in good stead for sure. Be aware - steep learning curve. You will lose ships, make mistakes, do dumb things and take crazy risks until your skills rise to the challenge.

My advice - study the settings file for the major keys you need to know well, and always have enough credits to cover insurance AND a hold of cargo - twice over.

You are going to have a blast I am sure!

Welcome, and fly safe! the game is already huge, but the Powerplay patch should put some structure into the open world environment to help guide the fun.

:D S

The game was certainly worth £40 before the PP announcement. Vast online game with no sub fees... ;)

But yeah good decision me thinks.

It's exactly these screenshots that have my interest reignited.

I'm actually surprised that this whole Command Capital (CC) thing hasn't been discussed in a single thread all day.

It sure does look like a lot of new and interesting stuff to delve into.:)

Welcome and we don't mind any language difficulties. Heck I am American and butcher English so bad that the Queen has asked NATO to enforce a no speaking zone where ever I am at.

Don't worry, native English speakers butcher it even worse.

Welcome. Enjoy, it's great fun and there is no need to ever grind. Really. You will find something that's enough fun that making credits will just sort of happen by accident.

Welcome my friend. You won't be disappointed, this is a great game. And it'll be getting even better with time.

Awesome. I think once 1.3 hits this will be a game that will immerse you for many hours.

Thanks guys!!

Yeah, everything is on place, and also a good Fibre optic connection.... only the Hotas is missing...

I been playing the free tutorials a lot, I mean, A LOT and never got tired, so much fun. I know that those tutorials are a minuscule part of the final game, but man, I love the way the ship feels, and the sound... omg.

But I know, this game is hard, I like that.

And Im a multiplayer player, and will play in open. I dont know, Its much more fun and "dangerous" when you play against people, even if there are some pricks that kill you with no reason. I bet you, that happens everyday in real life, and will happen if some day we colonize the galaxy.

My god, that's crazy!

I have a HW10, but I will never use my projector with a game.

Maybe that guy will have a better experience with a oculus rift? That's just crazy... a projector lamp is so expensive!!

Agreed. Never fly your house without insurance, even if you want to spend euros on upgrads. Ever. :D

Anyway welcome in the Galaxy, I hope you will enjoy the game! BTW may I suggest you finish all the work on the house before spending the rest of your life flying in the milky way? ;-)
