Ok Im buying this game

My god, that's crazy!

I have a HW10, but I will never use my projector with a game.

Maybe that guy will have a better experience with a oculus rift? That's just crazy... a projector lamp is so expensive!!

Yep not sure why a projector for ED when OR Dk ii is actually cheaper.

Glad to hear that this update is getting you into the game! I am looking forward to it myself, and (although I've gotten 2 of my friends to already get the game) am promoting this to the people that haven't picked up the game yet.

Hi Dorohedoro. I'm glad you decided to join our galaxy, and in my sig are a couple of guides that may be of some help.

About the game being a grind, well... for me, it's had some grindy moments. I do play Elite nearly everyday, but it's limited to about an hour or two a day (with many more hours/day when I can). I am an explorer, first and foremost. Some folks would describe exploration as a huuuuuge grind, but since I started being more selective with what I scan and explore it's been a much more rewarding experience. And playing roughly 2 hours/day its actually not much a grind. But I love to explore. People who love trade don't see 1,000 back-and-forths between 2 stations as a grind, because its what they enjoy. When I trade, it's 100% a grind because I always hated trading in space games. So while I'd consider even an hour of trading a grind, a week long journey to a distant star isn't a grind for me.

So, as long as you enjoy what you're doing, you'll likely not mind grindy moments because you'll be enjoying it :)

And I wouldn't say Elite is anything like Civilization (which I also love). You'll not build world wonders or work toward an absolute game end. But I get what you're saying- it'll feel like you're a soldier in a larger army and nation, with some control of policies and military operation. 1.3 sounds amazing to me, too, and if it does turn out to be like Civ, my eyes will roll back into my head and I'll go into a coma of joy lol That's probably not the best picture of joy, but I also never thought I'd see "lol" anywhere near the word "bankruptcy" :D

But welcome to the Elite universe, and I hope your IRL situation improves. I've been poor, and it indeed sucks. But that's life- it gets better, gets worse, gets better, and so on, like a roller coaster.

Welcome Commander. May next month arrive swift as an arrow, and if you make a choice of allegiance with the same effort in the research department, we should be in good hands. Or alternatively, in deep trouble! Depending on where we stand. :D

Bienvenido comandante! I have played ED since launch and I cannot play any other game since then. I also played skyrim for years and still have to finish the main quest, lol. It´s because i enjoyed travelling and watching the scenery and never used fast travel as a rule. If you are like me you are going to enjoy ED pretty much. Flying the ships is delightful in itself, as you very well know if you have tried the combat demo. But wait till you experince flying by a giant red star at 20 times the speed of light, and the sound of the viper...

I also support Alliance and I have joined AEDC (google Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps if interested) where we perform coordinated efforts to help alliance interests. Powerplay brings immense hope for fun in this regard.

Last but not least, my advices to improve the experience: learn about these programs

Freetrack is a free headtracking system (you can donate). You just have to build the 3 point clip or cap, which I personally found an interesting and gratifying project. You can even start building it now so you have it ready for when you get the game. It will cost you 10 euros at most. You can pm me if you need any advice about this.
Voiceattack is used by many of us here and it covers the lack of buttons in the T-Flight (although it´s a fine joystick in that regard and others) and is also fun to use.

Welcome and have fun. May be we meet up there at some point. Un saludo desde Madrid

Again guys, really, thank you so much...

Im a former world of tanks player, also war thunder. Those are a couple of grindy games Ive played, and I love both of them, I know Elite its different, but I dont mind some of grind in my games.

Im not poor lol, I just had a lot of expenses and right now I want to save for the future, I feel a little guilty expending money on a joystick and a video game after expending a lot of money on the house, and also having a lot of good unfinished games installed on my pc. If you want to buy a house you will have to buy a lot of stuff along the way to make your house "your house", for example, I completly changed the style of one of the bathrooms... and that my friend cost a lot, oh.... And the insurance lol, yeah... I have to pay for the insurance...

I have to think my faction choice carefully, according to a lot of sources the alliance is lacking in E:D...
