OK, I'm taking a break from ED while they clean up.

ok, I try passenger missions...and I get a bug so that the second leg doesn't exists....

...so I go to an alien planet, only to have a game crash that makes my ship disappear and strand me in a srv. (I suicided and ended up paying 24 million in replacement costs) :(

...so I Jump the 22 jumps to Maia to play the CG. Only to find THIS is bugged and all the CZ are gone. [blah]

...*sigh* I'm done with ED for awhile off to play something else while Frontier cleans up the release. [sour]

Yeah, I'm not playing until the bugs are fixed either. Just give it time.

I was amazed to see the Docking Computer making my ship act like it had the DTs; as I used it to dock yesterday. I made my normal jerky and shaky, keyboard control; look really smooth.

Yeah bugs; with updated they do tend to congregate. I'm still having fun playing and have not been unlucky with bugs (exept my ship was in docking breach when I switched ship whilst being docked and was destroyed).

One can wait for fixes and that is fine. I tend to wait for mods to certain games before even starting them (just now Skyrim Special Ed.)

Kill the bugs, brain bug detected!

The best thing you can do is get into a sidey and go bug hunting. In the standards testing industry it's called "test to fail".
While it's not a clean analogy, hunting bugs exhaustively and informing FD will get more bugs resolved but you only find them if you look.
My problem is the bugged planets that always show me as -1M altitude when I go below 6km (plays hell with the FSD) complete with invisible floating rocks.
At least I don't get the ultra-spikey planets anymore but I'm still falling into the planet a lot.

Look guys, I'll probably come back after a break, I seriously love this game. (like I said in the post title) but Pico, c'mon seriously?

After the 1) a hour lost with a buggy passenger mission, the 2) loss of an Anaconda due to a crash bug, and 3) wasting another half hour (15 min travel/15 min trying to figure out whats up) looking for a cg that apparently doesn't exist. I'm now up to an hour and a half of gameplay wasted and 24 million credits lost.

I think I'm entitled to gripe a little.

...and your "quick google search", well I did thorough search and all suggestion did not bring back my ship. Nor did "quick google searches" for the other two issues fair any better other then to read up of others having the same problem.

So I posted this as a gripe, yes, but also a warning to others. Beware, there appears to be some serious bugs. Play if you are willing to have some really annoying strange things happen that can seriously mess with you day, or..... Take a break like me and wait for them to get ironed out before you get too soured on the game.

TC I somewhat feel you on this, I've had all these things happen since 2.2 - the srv thing (which btw you can fix by loading non horizons and logging back in and out)

The bugs are many and especially considering the tourism bug was on the first mission I took, that was irksome

Though I'm not taking a break as the positive experience the game brings to me personally is far greater than the few negatives I find

Nah...The game is perfect.

The problem is not the game, is you.

After crappy engineers, I took a 4 month break. It was worth it! I came back invigorated and FD cleaned up some of the mess that engineers created. So enjoy your break!

After a few months, I was totally missing my FDL, I still love that ship! But, FD didn't expand the game to fix its problems. So it is pretty much worthless to me! Which stinks!

Are you having problems with the surface being generated properly? This sounds a bit like the bug I have experienced here : https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...s-Trader-s-Rest-Is-There-But-His-Planet-Isn-t!
.
I think that the testing you describe is effectively being crowdsourced by everyone who plays and reports bugs in the time after release. I don't expect things to be perfect but if I can reproduce a problem, then I report it. If I can't reproduce it then I keep playing (when possible) and see if a pattern emerges that allows me to then narrow down the way to reproduce it. e.g. I had some bad lighting/reflection flickering in starports today after a disconnect but not before, that I could see came from the starport lighting: I can't reproduce a disconnect so I haven't reported it but if it happens again next time I suffer a disconnect then I will do so.
.
In fairness to the OP, I can empathise. I have encountered more bugs for this release than for any previous release, which is a surprise since the long beta period appeared to have squashed so many and I was optimistic that it would be in a very good state at release. Right now I am unable to access the system map; landing on planets is dangerous as their surface geometry is not being properly generated and I can wind up beneath it and I know from the bug report/support forum that there are numerous problems with passenger missions, CGs, CZs and other things. I would be able to do regular trading and some missions as well as hunt through signal sources for materials or go mining. I'm tempted to go mining but I also feel that it might be best to give FD a little time to sort things out, as I really wanted to visit the alien ruins, do some modding with the new Engineers, go exploring in and around the bubble looking for interesting surface locations (e.g. volcanic activity, alien life) and run a few passenger missions to nearby tourist beacons. Hopefully there will be another patch out this week that fixes some of these things...

Hard crashes are my biggest headache now. Total lockup of my computer, sound gone berserk, hard reboot of computer required. Happens every play session since 2.2 dropped. Break time until this gets fixed.

Yeah. I'm pretty much done for 2 or 3 months. January I'll give it another shot.

Bugs everywhere.

Well, unfortunately that's fair - I've ran into a few of those bugs myself. (The Maia CG in particular) I've not quit, but neither am I playing the new content either - which is kinda the point of the guardians update.

There are also outfitting bugs as well, it does all need fixing quite urgently!

I never have anything quite like that but I get visuals that don't match up with the textures. I still get floating rocks, invisible walls and even invisible ceilings. I used to get these hellish needle planets with nowhere to land and occasional invisible super-stalagmites to run into. I was trying to land my Conda last night and my shields kept going down and I ran out of time (and hull!) so I exited to menu and logged back in hoping the terrain would be regenerated better, which it did. I had 1% hull so I was afraid to sneeze. Finally landed. (There's a planetary base on a red-skied planet in the California Nebula). Was considering flying back to the bubble and taking my chances that way. The suspense of all that dynamite under your seat set to go off the minute you run out of emergency oxygen or your hull starts to buckle is intense.

Best game play is always between the .05 patch and the next beta. It's when the servers are the most stable and there are the fewest bugs.

It has always been thus.

Now is the time to just relax and fly an iCourier or something else cheap that won't hurt you much if you get bug killed.

Not a big deal.

During the beta phase, I always wrap things up - clear the Transactions Panel, position ships where I want them, find a safe haven parking spot just prior to release of the next upgrade, then let the dust settle for a few weeks just having fun in a cheap ship. Once you get a clear picture of the full impact of the upgrade, gradually get back into more productive modes to achieve new goals you set for yourself.

Works a treat.

Well, this clean up will arrive with the plop of 2.3-4-5 or 3. whatever and another major nerfing to whatever pilots enjoyed/ developed internal immersions from from the prior drop.
Assuming these bugs / coding errors are even recognized as something to bother with and then identify and perhaps fixed- youll have coding errors to your eye brows to enjoy /work around with the new malcontent.

07; fly safe...etc

Bonus Steam Sale! I have been wanting to try out Firewatch and Kerble.... games just long enough to refresh the pallet, so that I can come back refreshed and eager to play some of the enhancements. (and be confident that they will work)

I've soldiered through upgrades before, but this is the first time they have been so.... disheartening. See ya all in about a month.

(that is if the Thargoids haven't invaded and blown the place to smithereens by then.)
