Ok, now i have 2 Elite games in my steam Library so ... ?

First of all, sorry if the question has already been asked.
I bought EDH on the FD store. I redeem my steam key. Now i have 2 games on steam.
So, my question is :

Have i to install Elite Dangerous Horizon again to keep being updated or what ? Because i've only installed ED and I launch Horizon via a shortcut on my desktop, steam seems unable to launch it properly (keep launching Elite: Dangerous, not horizon). Or, is the same files for both games ? (because right now, i didn't do anything, steam installed the files for Horizon with the Elite dangerous Update without me to install EDH).

If i install EDH, will i have the same update as we have now with ED ? Or should i continue to launch it "manually" and keep playing this way until EDH goes out of early access ?

Edit: Reading myself again, it's a bit messy, i hope you understood me

I ditched steam, and installed pre-launch via the launcher outside of steam and deleted the game from steam. Works great.

I've not got Horizons yet, so haven't had to deal with any of this hassle. But:

1) If you've got Horizons, you only need that version installed, and can safely do a "remove local content" on the other one to save yourself a bunch of space.
2) Removing local content on the game in any situation doesn't delete your save file; that's all held on Frontier's servers anyway, even if you accidentally mess up and delete both. Obviously, if you're super-nervous and/or have slow broadband, then you could back up the folder elsewhere first.
3) If you do want to go with a stanalone launcher and lose the Steam overlay (or just want the best images), then F10 dumps PNG screenshot files natively to Elite, at higher quality than Steam's F12 JPG output.
