OK,..So this happened

I was so entranced and convinced by the virtual environment that I slammed the OR into my desk while going for a close up view of my instruments... ever since then, my images seem to be more judderish (best I can describe it) Do you think I loosened something inside the OR? Or, has there been some recent server side performance issues to cause judder where there never was any before? If I broke the OR, i'll have to live with it until the CV1 comes out.

Thanks for your help...

BTW,... I am POSITIVE I am not the only person to have done this!

You aren't...

Try opening the hatch at the top front and checking the wires are still fully seated. Also check all the cables to the camera are fully connected. Aside from that you could have a look around the Oculus forums and see if anyone on there has the same problem.

Sounds stupid and you've probably done it already, maybe even by happenstance, but have you tried pulling the power (all cables out) and waiting for several seconds and powering it back up? The Oculus tracks motion MEMS sensors which can get a bit grumpy after a hard knock (there are maximum operating G forces after which the data becomes nonsensical). If it hasn't been fully powered off since it might be that the sensors just need to be left to settle and reinitialise.

If you think if might be something that's happened to Elite Dangerous I'd suggest that after you've switched it off and started it up again, you should try the demo scene that's built in to the Rift Configuration software.

I've never banged my DK2 into a desk in front of me because I keep it clear. But that desk in the demo looks very solid like it would support an elbow <blush>.

I have head butted the top of my X55 at least once leaning in.

Yep, done that one too.

Couple times in supercruise I've tried to push my hands against the roof of the cockpit while stretching :S

And that one.

I smashed my DK2 into a bookshelf next to my desk while admiring the side menus. Pretty hard too. Didn't seem to cause any damage. Good luck!
