...but now like Noctover said it's about advertising and revenue streams...
I admit, I've forgotten about advertisements ever since I started using Firefox, Noscript, and Adblock Plus.
My reasoning being, I've seen enough advertisements in a single year to last me a lifetime as it is - and there's more advertising being shoved in my face anywhere I turn the moment I step outside my home. So I really don't feel beholden to "supporting" anybody via third-party advertising, of which 99.999% is just mindless, extremely repetitive, and not even slightly entertaining/humorous until Superbowl season rolls around. Once you've seen an ad for a thing, you've seen them all, and it got old fast a long time ago for me, especially if you ever take a class that teaches you how to read between the lines in advertising.
In Djtruthsayer's case, the only "advertising" I've seen him do is genuine promotion of charity events and bringing proper attention to other streamers that may not be known so well.
In fairness, if I catch a streamer regularly taking breaks to run ads, it turns me off too.
