ok trekies! - whats the warp equivalent or speed in realtion to what we do in the game!

yea ... you know what i mean .. warp factors , impulse in solar system .. how does it tie in with old kirk's era star trek ? ? - lovely stuff . [up]

I'm sure nothing beats ludicrous speed.

Id say space normal (impulse only). Is same as what we putt around as.
Warp speed is super cruise, and star jumping would be trans warp.

nah normal speed would probably be thrusters only manovers(ie th ships impulse drive i offline) supercruise is probably impulse( the impulse engines can reach near light speed velocitys, starfleet has limits to prevent bad stuff from happening cause of that fact and tho you can go to other systems on it.. its not recomended cuz its so slow} hyperspace is probably warp

on a side note max impules is typically warp 0.75c(or cochrans)(but the engines are rated to like .0.96c) before weird time distortion type crap happens warp 1.00(aka 1cochran)or 2.00 is typically the max for any warp in say sol system if you wanna go faster you gotta leave the soler system first cause of more time distortion dangers and such..that and gravity from the stars/planets may possible rip the ship apart...at higher speeds

my spelling sucks but thats a little terminology for you some of which may be wrong.. i roleplayed as a starfleet engineer for years in countless star trek games so my technobabble's passable... mostly

We go WAY faster in game than they do in the Star Trek universe.
I haven't done the full math, but consider Star Trek Voyager:
They had (give or take) 70,000 LY to travel, and it was going to take them around 70 years. This means they could roughly go 1,000 LY in 1 year. Considering that jumping from star to star in hyperspace we can travel that distance in a matter of minutes in ED, I'd say that Cmdr Cody's comparison is probably fairly close actually.
Correct me if I'm wrong but this has always been my interpretation.

hyperspace and warp are two totally diffrent mechanics but take starwars(they also use hyperspace) some jumps take them hours or days within it others maybe a few minutes.. so either elites hyperspace is a whole crapton more advanced/powerful then both star wars and star trek(thats what would make me fear all the alien hooplah were seeing in game as they are even that much more powerful/advanced then humans in elite) or what looks like a few minutes to us (as remember were apprently hologrsms} is really days or weeks or maybe months and for what ever reason the clock ingame is broke and dosent reflect the time the trip really took
