Powerplay OK...what just happened?

So I was at a nav beacon in my Vette. All is fine......never lost my shields for about an hour. Along comes this T9. It takes a long time but I am getting it down. All of the sudden I go to Oxygen. Looking at my modules everything is disabled. No power. All modules are in the 90% integrity range. I try rebooting/repair multiple times. 0 modules repaired. Nothing works. Everything looks normal. I exit the game and come back. Same thing....After 7 minutes I die and 33 million later I come back. What on earth should I look for if that happens again. I have done NAV farming for weeks with no problems. My Vette didn't appear to have a scratch on it and the shield we at 2 rings when that happened.

Put a post on discord or Fuel rats, and close the game.. someone will come along with a fuel-transfer limpet to save your butt.. or have a small scoop, so you can top up.. or just keep an eye on it.

I lost a FDL like that (tiny fuel tank) - yes, it can be surprising how much fuel you can use in a few hours of SC/normal flight.. There is no other explanation for sudden power loss with modules at decent numbers.

It should say "main fuel tank drained" when you are only running on your reservoir, as in the thin line on your fuel gauge rather then the thick one/the one with squares.

The thin line above your fuel tank is your 'in use' fuel, and the thicker line is your reserve. The thin line represents 1 tonne of fuel.

You will see it say like 1.5/h or something, which is how many thin bars you will go through. 1 thin bar running out will move 1 tonne of your fuel reserves to replenish the thin line. (The thick line to the thin line, the thick line will be lots of squares if you have a small fuel tank like 8 tonne)

Jumping between stars uses so much fuel it purely uses your reserves for jumping (the blue section when you choose a star)

Hope this helps.

The thin line is indeed your reservoir, but just to clarify it is not 1T of fuel. It varies from ship to ship with the larger ships being over 1T and the smaller ships being less. I believe when the game released it was 1T but it changed at some point to each ship being different.

Here's some sciencing to show the data collected on various ships last year. Yeah, there's some missing if anyone wants to help get some more data, send me a PM or hit me up on the Fuel Rats IRC, http://www.fuelrats.com/i-need-fuel and click the green button.
