I wanted to love this game, but as of right now, I just can't do it anymore. Sorry, for this rant, but I have to vent
Every day, I start up the game to give it another try. Because I easily forget and think to myself "How bad can it really be?". And each and every time it takes like 1 to 5 minutes in game, where I come accross another stupid issue, that immediatly sucks all enthusiam out of me and makes me quit. It's not one big thing, it's death by a thousend cuts. Today just broke the camels back.
I simply tried to build a path with the draw tool:
Building a path should be one of the easiest things to do in a game like this. But it is unbelievably frustrating and obviously bugged.
This is not about, wether or not something works or not. It is about, that the top priority should be ease of use! It's about, that I, as a player, should not run into issues like this every 30 seconds. It's about the fact, that every single tool and mechanic in this game, has issues like this. I don't want to work around your bugs and quirks anymore.
I don't want to waste tome on something that "kind of" works if you look at it from "the right" angle with your eyes squinted and a dev behind you that kicks you in the back when you move the mouse to fast.
I want to play something that is reasonably easy to pick up, but with enough depth, to get into the details if you want. You know, the kind of game that PC1 is!
If you want to provide, poweruser functions, than I am all for it. But those have to come on top of the basic functionality.
The entire UI and UX of PC2 smells like "Developer UI". Just make it somewhat functional and check it off the to-do list. It appears as, not a single thought, about usability, was put into this. And if it was, than someone should really reflect on their career path and maybe reconsider.
At this point, I have no patience left, to be unpaid QA. I have family and very limited time to waste on games. Frontier obviously doesn't care about my time and so don't care about their products (anymore).
I will put this on the shelf for a few months. If Frontier survives and has fixed this mess until than, I'll give it another chance.
Bye

I simply tried to build a path with the draw tool:
- First, the game thought it would be sensible to build the path in mid air. Why? I'm 100% sure, that I did not raise it. So, under what circumstance would that ever be the desired thing to do?
- Since steam is recording everything, I can see exactly when the game changed the build level. It happend when I adjusted the camera to get a better view.
- After starting a path on ground level, I had the next issue. The length indicator is always on top of the cursor!!! No matter how you rotate the camera.
- I think this was introduced with the december update? I never recognized that before. But seriuosly... who built this? I need to understand the thought process behind this. I'm sure there is something fascinating to be learned here. How braindead do you have to be, to consider this good or even usable?
- After "blindly" drawing some path, the game decided to throw the next stick between my legs. By simply refusing to place the path, because "The spot is obstructed!"
- Is this a joke to you Frontier? I end the path on the exact same spot I started on. What is the obstruction?
