Question: when you dismiss your ship and it flies off can it be destroyed by another commander?

If they shoot it before it jumps out, yes (and the autopilot sets pips to 2-4-0, irritatingly). After that, no (until you recall it).

So essentially, when your ship is dismissed once it's out of visual range it's technically not in the game anymore? I mean like, it's no longer a physical object in the server anymore?

Just trying to understand how this works...like another player can't come and say hey look an unmanned ship circling this planet...likewise when you're destroyed in your SRV, you are just "regenerated" somewhere in space in your ship correct?

Phah, I had the opposite problem. The hunk of junk came down twice and caught a landing where I couldn't get under it due to a minor uprise in the landscape.

This, happens to me all the time!

Though, the first time I try planetary landing, after I recall the ship, I managed to drive my SRV to the exact spot where the ship was landing. Almost landed right on top of me before it went nope, and went away again complaining that the landing site was obstructed.
