Okay, there is one amazing thing from this patch (hint: cobra 4)

The Cobra 4 has 10 !!!!!?!?!!?!?!! optional internal slots now. I have this fitted out the same as my multipurpose anaconda minus the fighter hangar.

Will keep guns off it for the sake of ai, and i've got 43 jump on it too.

Huge grin, that's amazing and very cool. Now all we need is for ps4 players to get one and life is good.

The should've left the Exclusive Cobra 4 alone. A Cobra 4.2 with the two extra slots would've been a great way to honor the promise they made with those who have the Cobra 4, while still offering a version that fits the game's current vision.

The extra slots are the best thing ever - it has allowed me to melt my Phantom down and rebuild it as a much better multirole Krait 2 (the extra slot makes all the differance ) to go Guardian ruins looting , the Alliance crusader now has an SRV so I can use it not just to kill Thargoids in space but loot the surface sites as well even my Imperial eagle now has a (small) fuel scoop :)
Python is the most unchanged - but it did let me re-orginise a bit more efficiently - I dislike having class 1 in class 2 that sort of thing.
The Cobra IV is now close to perfect - how about we allow folk to get them (or something close) for being triple or quad elite or something - heck even have an unlock mission - bring back bit's from Jameson's crashed cobra and use it to develop a mk4 b or something.
Just give us a few more small hardpoint weapon varieties (especially ax) to really make small and medium ships more interesting.

And yes the Cobra IV is ideal for core mining.

Thanks for the information. I did wonder.

The ship came into its own for the new mining, now it can be even better. Thanks for the Premium Content, FD ;)

Im still trying to find a system where the Cobra IV is for sale...Im in the Inner Orion Spur.

It is only available to pre-purchasers of Horizons, back in the day, as a reward for their support. It's a sore point among later players, but the ship has sailed flown on that one.

I still don't really get the point of it... Why not just use a Python or whatever? It's not like it handles like a small ship as well as others particularly. New players don't have the ship anyway. Or do people not know how to pilot their ships and are afraid of the rebuys or something?

I just rebuilt one and it's actually a great ship - like a mini python. Those extra slots are useful. It's fast enough (just) when engineered with dirty drives, but I wish it was a little faster. I think Cobras should always have pace so a small buff would be sensible. I'm happy for everyone to have it as it's decent.

I have both Python and a Cobra 4 - both engineered a lot - I find the Cobra is faster and more manoeuvrable (FA of especially) in and around freshly exploded core roids - as I have said elsewhere it feels like a 4x4 version. (A short wheelbase Series 3 land rover in particular - if they were spaceships that is  )

Yes, the new slots improve every ship...which is why I don't like them.

I hate the Cobra IV considerably less than the Python.
I can see the logic in that - but, I do feel many of the small and medium ships felt a bit "unfinished" and rather restricted - the extra slots makes them viable now I think ( to me anyway).

For me? RP pretty much. Because of the scale issues and no space legs, the small ships to me are the most believable all things considered.

With the outfitting buff it does bubble multipurpose / taxi as well.. including the non combat half of signal source gameplay (mat collecting and distress signals).

A small ship as awesome as large ships is easily fond of too.
