I've started playing around 3 weeks ago and I'm still discovering the universe bit by bit.
Still, there are some things I'm wondering why they are missing in the game, since they obviously have been suggested before.
Planet GPS:
You found a nice spot on a planet as a good screenshot location? You want to arrange a meeting for a clan event on a planet?
Why not make use of a 21st century technology to create simple waypoints on a planet surface with coordinates?
Seriously that shouldn't be hard and is long overdue...custom waypoints on planets to find and share unmarked location. Especially with the announced space leg-update.
A nice addition for the racers among us would be the possibility to create multiple, share-able waypoints for custom racing tracks in canyons or around stations/capital ships, etc.
Would support a new (old) game aspect and maybe lead to more events by clans.
Engineering descriptions:
Seriously, I've only found the actual effect and usage of engineering upgrades through youtube channels.
It's one thing to be proud about an active community, another to rely on them to explain your ingame mechanics.
Especially in engineering upgrades the descriptions are confusing and sometimes even plain wrong.
Please update these descriptions or maybe add codex entries about them. Just anything that a new player can make sense of them. Unlocking engineers is confusing as it is, no need to make it harder. ⚙
Achievements?
I'm still having fun in the game, but I can imagine that experienced players would enjoy some achievements to push for new goals and have something to show for it.
Maybe even reward them with some skins or bobbleheads.
Things like jump record >200ly with a neutron star.
Beeing at specific locations in the universe (like visiting every star of a constellation).
Traveling >50.000 ly from home (and even 100k ly...one edge to the other?)
The infamous 0HP club (killing an enemy ship while having 0% hull)
I know some people might not be a fan of them, I just think it challenges people to try out aspects of the game they wouldn't do and giving new players longterm goals (aside from the ones we set ourselves...I want to discover a system in every galaxy sector, for instance)
