On Foot Conflict Zones in Teams

I've had a bit of fun solo in the conflict zones on foot and a mate who has a fresher account (50m in the bank and a Python, no engineering) was up for joining me. So I picked him up in my Mandalay and popped us to the nearest War system. This was Kuma.

When we got there, I docked us at the last station on the primary star, to then notice it doesn't have a Frontline solutions, so we can't dropship into a conflict zone together from there. So we went over to the larger station near the star, to then realise if we did frontline solutions, we couldn't pick the deployment zone and so we would most likely end up being drop shipped over at one of the dozen or so conflict zones in the secondary orbit, 340k ls away.... We just wanted to get into a fight and have a laugh, so no thanks.

I checked and discovered that if I flew us into the one nearby, it would let us choose and then we could participate. So I hot land, get the comms message, select the side and disembark.

My mate is pretty new to the game and UI. I told him to check the comms panel and in the time it took him to check, the ship auto dismissed, teleporting him back to the last station he stepped foot in. I wasn't sure and am still not certain as to whether being in a team means there is a 'leader', and whether me choosing a side automatically chose that side for him also, but nonetheless, there was no information that my ship was just going to leave, and honestly no justification for it to do so with someone else on board. It scuffed our session and we went and played something else. Just too much friction.

As an aside, I think this could also be a teleportation exploit, where you could save time getting to engineers by going in teams and then they log out and you teleport back.

I feel like this was a weird edge case that almost just isn't actually supported properly by Odyssey, the fact that the ship can auto dismiss and the other commander is just on foot and gets teleported.
