On Foot Mission Timers Too Short

I don't get a huge amount of game time, so I find it mildly frustrating when I accept a few on foot missions, but one takes a bit longer (sometimes fighting my way in takes a while), and then I run out of time to complete the rest.
With the 7~ hour timer, I can't even come back the next day.
Not that it would make a huge difference, because I actually only play on Monday and Friday. Lol

Is there any chance the mission timer can last 7 days? like ship missions do (or did…? I actually forget).

Thanks

I also have found the mission timers to be too short. Often times not even being long enough for me to finish them off pre expiry when coming back to them the same day. I’d like to see longer timers myself.

For ship missions it's generally 24hrs or more, although some are a little less. 7 hours is an odd choice and really needs to be bumped up to give the same spread as the ship missions. At least that way there'd be some 6-7 day missions you could safely accept.

So you want the BGS to only change weekly to keep those bases in the same state while you wait? Seems unlikely ...
I'd be happy with 24h.
I could probably manage to log in on lunch and have a go.

But in all honesty, I don't care about the BGS, because my play time is so limited I can never really do anything with it.
If it all ground to a halt and never changed, I'd not notice for a year or so. 😄

priority missions could have short timers, and a bigger payout.

Other missions could have more flexible windows but slightly lower pay. (easier to stack etc)

The current ~7 hour timer on foot missions have is far too low to my mind. The missions could just redirect to new settlements/poi or tasks if the state changes making the initial mission objectives impossible. Adding more states between 100% online and 100% offline might be able to allow for longer mission timers.

24 hours typical of nonwing space missions as standard is still too short to my mind 30 + would be better for non-priority missions. If a player can only play after a set time each day when they sit down to resume playing the next day the mission will just be expiring if it has a 24 hour limit. the 7 day limit for wing missions is great, but the pay is usually subpar unless it is shared with a full wing.

I'd say even 24hrs isn't long enough - if I start a mission I like to finish it but often only get an hour of continuous play time which isn't enough for a lot of missions - next available time - probably 24 hrs or more later - I have had so many failed mission just due to having to stop the game for one reason or another and when I return I have failed. It would be nice if at least a few missions were several days long.

possible Solution: Only accept on foot mission if you have to the time to do them straight away and you wont face any time issues. :D

This one.

At 7 days, I'd be waiting for the "i can't complete mission X" complaints, which already happen with ship missions on a 24h timer.

Just take less missions simultaneously. They don't stack readily anyway, so you still need to travel just as much.

Yes, the way it does in space… what’s the difference?
Bases change state with the BGS, so they may change daily. If you have a 7 day timer on a mission you'll probably find the base will not be in the right state and you'll have a failed mission. 7 day missions sometimes fail because a megaship has jumped away etc, or because a faction has retreated - but this is rarer.

Hence the shorter timers on the new missions.

I don't disagree that completed missions shouldn't have the timer applied.
