on ride photo sections

so we now have CCTV camera's and we have joypad cameras

but were still missing on ride photo cameras, every single theme park in the world has several of these on coasters and even flat rides, i love planet coaster more than any other game i own but were almost 6 months post release and still missing this essential feature.

Agreed, this would a nice feature for all the tracked rides..... Maybe placement of these on ride sections, along with the photo booth sales could become another profitable section of park management? Additional staff member(s) and photo sale tills linked to the chosen rides (similar menu to triggers or duelling click to add).... How popular is the ride? How good is the photo...? Judge from camera view? percentage rating like the queue line ratings? Maybe 2 models for photo sales? One larger up front ticket for all photos / or single photo sales? [big grin]

Also... with multiple stations for load / unload, but this isn't the right post for that... [tongue]

Yep it adds some good parts both just for fun and management. And you could even have guests thoughts saying "wow what an amazing memento of my time here" or if it's badly placed on your ride guests feedback would be "gosh, what a rip off, these photos are a waste of time" or similar.

They are things that add the ability to place a building on the exit path of rides where people could stop to purchase them, they could have a specific exit path piece so that flow of guests doesn't cause issue.

As said above it means you can place a photo booth and then micro manage the shots. It also means you purchase a USB photo stick at the information Kiosk so that any ride that has a photo booth the guest automatically has that photo for 'X' amount.

I know other parks that do that, it adds something else to the existing structure in game and makes it all tie in again :)

I like things that have multiple uses and work together as it feels worth while, at the moment the info kiosk never gets built in my parks because it doesn't feel needed. More options mean more reason.

I think Laurence indeed has a a great idea. Just use the triggers in combination with an object/camera. Shouldn't be to hard to build I presume.

Yep indeed. There certainly is no reason as we have the camera function and asset in game now too. It wouldn't be a huge step at all for the trigger to set so that as it passes the cam takes the photo. Then they are sold in as said a dedicated room on the exit path or multi-buy in the info kiosk.

Yes the info kiosk could then sell the USB sticks? Then the guests still have to visit each photo booth but not pay money... Would mean that every time you build a new ride with photo you'd have to rebalance your prices which is a nice idea [tongue]

Luuknoord - I wrote this whole paragraph then actually understood what you meant so I deleted it all and I'm starting again! Yes I agree, that would be very cool to link the camera to the ride in this way.... Then as we place down our camera externally from the ride (on buildings etc?), we'd then have the freedom to move the camera (like is security camera mode) to then set up the composition of the photo for our own ride...? Then triggers are automatic for each row! [tongue] Maybe some very basic photography elements (like rule of thirds?) could then go into the photo rating? and how well it would sell? [big grin]

Or even run a campaign for free social media photos, which runs like an additional campaign but reduces people who pay for a photo.

Also would love if you could tie a photo stall to a ride explicitly, and some guests would run from the exit to the shop to see their face. Could even have guests queuing pointing to their photo on the wall.

Exactly to all of that although I would say it could also have a camera asset that has the camera on a pole that you place along the track. So you place your trigger then place your camera and link that trigger to said camera.

The photos taken when the trigger activates so you have to make sure you get the photo right during testing and manually adjust the cam position etc. As you say some basic photo composition would allow to get better ratings etc and thus make guests happier. This could be done via a slider where you want to try and get the bar in the green for excellent photos and it's red if it's not very good.

Guests will pay more for better photos than bad ones and generally be happier.

You can control individual prices or as you say a single "multi buy" with USB stick and then adjust local kiosk or global kiosk prices for such. You could actually have it so that the USB photos can be updated at the Kiosk's as well as they are saved in a central system and then you go to the kiosk rather than having to queue in the photo both. This way you almost have a fast pass system also for collecting photos.

I know some theme parks also have a photo dispensing machines where you can plug your USB and select all your photos from the interface and thus save you having to go to anyone direct. They are often dotted to the exit of the park so people grab them on way out.

I second this!

All great ideas!!!!

Hope it will be implemented someday (soon).

Really amazing content coming in the new update but this feature has been requested, and would love to see this sometime soon! It definitely should be linked to a photo shop (perhaps a separate shop type) that can also sell ride merchandise, as this is in almost every big park you go to.

At the moment, getting on the ride with priority pass queues and the station gates is very realistic, which is what we all have really wanted as previous coaster games lacked this, however when people leave the stations after the ride, all they can do is go back to the path and continue round the park, which is fair enough as the main attraction is over, but I'd love to see some sort of ride photo store type, so that they can spend some money having been 'wowed' by the ride and can see their photos.

Also in RCT3 they released these desk only stalls that work really well inside buildings, if you wanted to make a shop/fast food restaurant that wasn't just a 1x1 stall. Could we get some unthemed stuff like this perhaps??

These are all great.

You could even have a new shop type if frontier wanted to be generous and have a drop down "Sell photos for XXX" coaster/tracked ride and even have a portable camera (like the cctv) that you can place for scenary shots of guests and use for flat rides also

Come on Frontier :)

Yeah I was thinking the part where guests buy the photos would be a new shop that you would place either on the exit line or the path just next to the exist so that guests would buy them from there accordingly.

Indeed for the track and coaster types I would like to see a camera that connects to the tracks and also offer a free placement camera that can be linked to the trigger too.

Further thoughts to that is for flat rides they still need to be able to have triggers attached to the sequence and then you select a time interval from when the sequence starts to when the trigger activates. You can then link your camera to take the photo to that moment and add all sorts of other parts to that then. The UI would need sorting though to allow for this but again would add loads to customise it further, manage how the ride runs etc.

now we have CCTV poles, we can look at having these as "Walk about " photo locations , triggered to certin shops to sell them, and it would also work for having on ride photos of flat rides, youd place the camera on a pole infront of the flat, then trigger it to the flat in question and link it to a shop selling them . boom , onride photos of coasters, tracked rides and flats with the option of walk about too, perfect

I strongly support these onride photo ideas. Being able to set up a camera anywhere along the track and controlling the camera angle would be amazing.

What I really want to see since RCT3 is the ability to link an onride photo shop to a ride and place it at the exit. Guests that were on that ride should be more inclined to buy a photo. This would make every ride in the park feel more realistic because we could build an exit through the gift shop just like in real life parks.

a REALLY nice idea with be a segemtn of path that has the photo building/shop attatched to it, so guests can freely walk though but would be more inclined to buy a photo/gift also

but for now, just on ride photos would be amazing :)

3 things from me on this

1

It would be brill to add the camera as a trigger on the track and then as there the ride exit you can place a shop selling the pics

2

a walk about camer member of staff that people have pitures infront of things ie a castle or mainstreet. like at disney would be good and then the guests go to the same photo shops to by the pictues ... you could alos have them at meet and greet poiints with the charaters.

3
guests have there own camers and take pictures in the park..
