On Screen Keyboard

Hey,

Not sure how everyone else handles inputting system names to the galaxy map whilst in VR? We could really use a pop out onscreen keyboard... I've tried dictation mode in Voice Attack and it isn't really accurate enough.

I have a command in Voice Attack that sets my "Home" location (Synteini), another that sets whatever destination I'm going to use and a last one that pastes those from the clipboard, but that only really works if I'm shuttling between home and 1 other place...

Any one else have any suggestions?

I have Virtual Desktop. Do you have to launch ED through it to use the keyboard? Or can you just use the native support OR and somehow bring up the on screen keyboard - in which case, how do you do that?

Really wish they'd build an on-screen keyboard into the game - I can't understand why it's not there already considering that it's kind of essential for consoles rather than just being a VR thing.

It's actually one of the main reasons I avoid open while I'm in VR. It becomes too much hassle and too immersion breaking when I have to keep peering out from under the Rift to respond to chat messages - if I could type with a console style on-screen keyboard I'd be in open constantly.

Vive seems to have a keyboard build into controllers, but not sure if they are available in ED.
Nav and REAL problem at the moment in ED with VR.

I use an untraditional Voice Attack method. When in VR I yell out in a loud voice, "Darling, I need you to type something for me again."

Then she attacks.
