Community Event / Creation On the cards: a prototype Elite: Dangerous tabletop card game

As you've seen in the latest newsletter, I'm working on an Elite: Dangerous card game which based on the actual gameplay. Since the description wasn't too informative, I thought it needs some explaining.

The idea is based upon a card game from my childhood called Car-Quartett - but with a lot more depht. I thought it would be great to play Elite: Dangerous with the guys during meetings, even if there isn't any computer around us. (You know: bars, parks, other social places :) )

The various but not too complicated rules have been outlined soon. It still needs lots of development and balancing but the game yet playable and ready to test. Here is a brief and simplified description of the game:

Number of players: 2-4
There are 4 kind of cards: ships (three of every kind for each faction), missions (one or two per ships' attributions), events and upgrades.
Each player takes 4 Spaceship Cards (Wing) and two from the Events and Upgrades (Modifiers) pack.
Somebody pulls a Mission card. Players drop their ship with the lowest value of the mission attribution and pull another one from the Spaceship deck. (e.g. transport mission -> cargo capacity) The dealer plays a card and calls an attribution, the others try to hit it. The player with highest value of the called attribution wins the turn. At the end of the turn the dealer may decide to play an Event card. If he passes, the next player (elder hand) may play an Upgrade card. These cards can modify who wins the turn and takes the cards. The next turn begins.
The player who takes the most Spaceship cards accomplished the mission and receives the Mission card.
The player who owns the highest sum of the mission's attribution receives a "Canister".
Who collects the most Mission cards and Canisters wins the game.

I'm a bit confused about the fate of the game, but whatever happens I keep up the work. I'm considering to include the Powerplay as well, but since it's not clear to me I have no idea how this could be accomplished. I'd be grateful for each and every advice. Thanks in advance!
