HEllo all.
Just wanted to register here and start to get some info on this game before taking the plunge.
I have really been looking forward to this game and really having a hard time getting off of the fence on purchasing.
Really that hesitance comes from the recent decision to take away offline mode, I know I know im sure there are 1000 threads on this.
In all honesty if I get this game I would want to play online so I could experience the dynamic content, which I think will be awesome so its not that I want to play offline first off.
But what my issue is, is that this sandbox game is something I would want to play for years as I play many of my favorite games for years and years. My issue is that I cannot do that with this game now which is ok but 5 years from now if something happens and the servers get turned off thats it, I cant even play this game like the old Elite without the dynamic content.
If they would have at least an option to play offline stating clearly that you will not get the dynamic content etc I would be all over this. So I can only hope that they see the light and add such an option or in the very least promise that IF something happens and the centralized servers go away they will patch into the game the ability for people to still enjoy this game offline. I have seen no indication that is the case though so here i sit on the fence.
I really do hope to immerse myself into this game at some point.
