On the Periphery of Lugh

Captain's Log - 25 Feb 3301 @ 5:31:32
Federal Lieutenant Commander Hek - Explorer, Peddling Trade to the Galaxy
Approximately 20 LY from the Lugh System

It appears that the Lugh sector has become quite the hot bed of Alliances with inclinations towards freedom from Federation oversight and audit activities.

Apparently whoever was dispatched to deal with Ambassador Laoghire utterly failed to accomplish their mission. Now Federal resources are going to be tied up in the fraggin' sector for far too long, despite obvious dominance in the surrounding systems.

It is a good thing that the cartographers guild pays well for astral data. The Federation Navy certainly does not reimburse for fuel expenses. Largest contiguous empire in the history of ever, and a Lieutenant Commander has to fuel his own ship from one conflict to the next.

Do the station and platform owners not realize who keeps their transit lanes clear? Have they not seen what high speed projectiles do those towers of theirs that they insist I must always face while they act like I am lucky to be able to dock on their pad? A little quid pro quo is too much to ask for?

Those Colored and Metal aligned malcontents are at it again it seems. In this case Crimson, Silver and Gold. On the surface, aligned with the Federation. In reality, moving commodities into neighboring systems to support those foolish, Socialist and Labor oriented factions in neighboring systems. Do those fools really think that a Naval officer is going to miss their schemes?

I have the sense that the future does not bode well for Federation interests in systems neighboring Lugh. I hope that the appropriate officers at the Command are monitoring these transmissions and preparing appropriately. I would hate to be the poor shmuck who failed to track an Alliance build up so close to the Core systems.
