"Once a primary starport has been established, it can be improved and upgraded via the continued supply of resources."

Please can someone explain what this sentence in the official system colonisation guide means;
"Once a primary starport has been established, it can be improved and upgraded via the continued supply of resources."

Does this mean the PRIMARY STARPORT ITSELF can be improved and upgraded, as is implied by the wording of the sentence (...IT can be improved...), or is the sentence referring to improving and upgrading the SYSTEM IN GENERAL via continued supply of resources TO ALL SUBSEQUENT FACILITIES BUILT??

I suspect the latter, but would appreciate clarification/confirmation please :)

Thanks.

The latter is certainly true (and constructions elsewhere can also improve what the primary starport does)

The former might also be true, though I'm not aware of anyone specifically testing that yet.

In context:

Build up the System Colony
Once a primary starport has been established, it can be improved and upgraded via the continued supply of resources.
As System Architect you can place build instructions for a variety of facilities, located either in orbit of a planet via the system map or on the planet itself by travelling to the surface and identifying the perfect deployment site.

I'd guess "it" refers to "the System Colony" in the title, mostly because no-one from FDEV has specifically mentioned upgrading starports anywhere. The writing is a bit sloppy if so, true enough. Just MO.

I believe the upgrading refers to things like UC and module and ship supply and even the presence of the shipyard, not actually changing the final construction of the starport itself but just the services and options it has available for players, yes it is badly worded, should be made clearer but then maybe they want us to work it out for ourselves.

Yeah recon you're probably right, just wondering considering the way that sentence scans.
Although I suppose the primary starport will kind of improve the commodities available from it via the economies you build into your system and the eventual background economy integration?
Great job on the App so far btw, keep up the good work

They station itself can be improved. Significantly. Shipyard added. Supply / Demand figures changed. Economy changed, when placed correctly etc.

This happens by building other stuff and improving the system stats. Or in the case of the local economy (on body + orbit around body) changing economy.
Whether you can do so by actually delivering stuff to the station... wouldn't count on that one, but haven't done a test over a longer time period.

Here are two screenshot of my station getting in gear after building a bunch of stuff and fixing system security:

So are your farm & civil outpost on the orbit of the same planet or on the surface of the same planet as you main star port ?

No. They are all over the place. Same "local zone" is primarily relevant for changing your economy type. Other uses are not known to me.

From my experience the whole system benefits from increasing Security, Tech Level, Wealth, Standard of Living and Development.

still getting bio-waste got a shipyard , but no Stella cartography built a space farm , relay station and security station ,with a industrial outpost , i feel i messed up not having it on same line ? just wondering if anyone has got any sort of economy going and how

Sloppy writing, or done by a technical writer that doesn't actually know anything about the game? If they meant to say something different, you would think they would. Delivering more CMM Composite to the primary starport certainly does not upgrade it.

A normal person would have written:

"Once a primary starport has been established, it can be improved and upgraded via the continued building of more facilities in the system."

AFAIK building other facilities is specifically what improves the primary starport. NOT delivering more CMM Composite.
