Would be cool if they had missions that gave military lasers, cooling boosters, cloaking devices like in the original elite.
Or just give some random equipment upgrade that fits in a smaller compartment, with less weight of course.
Well the reward doesn't have to be so op this early into the game but enticing enough to justify naval progression instead of mindless bounty hunting/trading.
