One car monorail

I have setup a monorail on the outskirts of my zoo to test and learn.. and despite having room for more than 1 cars I cannot add cars. Monorail has been tested, works fine with the car. Just I try to click the increase arrow and it does nothing. Why would this happen? Apparently I cannot post a screenshot, its greyed out. But there is enough room for 5, just won't let me add anymore than the 1.

Did you close the Building before you tried it? It's a while back since I've built a Transport Ride but I'm pretty sure that it needs to be closed to add more

It might be a requirement to have at least two stations for anything but the Jeep ride. Do you have multiple stations? The cars are added always at the same number at each station, ie. you add one additional car first to each of the other stations before adding more cars to the station your looking at. Maybe worth a try!

I do have 2 stations. It's tested. It works between the 2 stations with one car, just when I go into the menu for the monorail to add more cars, I can't. It stays at 1.

Is your monorail on the loop mode or end to end mode? I think end to end mode only allows one, but it has been a while since I made a ride.

OK, so I got a 3 station loop up and running. Mostly... first station the entry gates open accordingly. For the 2nd and 3rd stations the entry gates never open and they passengers are just marooned there waiting. Why would they not open even with an empty car delivered?

You need to fiddle with the load rules at each station. Generally I use "any load" and set a min wait time of 20 seconds and same intervals time between.

You might have to fiddle with the settings. The exiting passengers need to leave the station completely (d.h. get past the exit gate) before the next set of passengers can get onto the car. If the car leaves before they have time to do that, you might have the setting “don’t block station” on. This will force the car to leave the station immediately after the passengers got off, if there are other cars waiting at the station. And/or you might have to set the minimum time at the station longer.

If entrance and exit gates are a bit apart from each other, the cars need to stop at the station longer than if they are directly next to each other. Because of that, different stations might need different settings, or, if you want to use the same settings everywhere, the cars need to stop longer than actually necessary at some stations to allow the passengers enough time at the other(s).

I can give you my current monorail settings later today, which seem to be working as they should.

Thanks for the tips.. I finally got it. I shortened the distance from drop off to depart trail that seemed to help a bit. But the people getting off animation is... slow. So it's set at 20/40/20 with don't block the station turned off. And now that it is settled I can finally make it purty to improve happyness.. although I think having it by itself has helped a fair bit.
