Ok, I've raised this issue before and others seem to have had it. I just want to say that I noticed something that's probably extremely obvious to everyone so please forgive me for my stupidity.
Playing Alien Isolation requires you to pause the Oculus Rift service. Fine, so long as you star the game within a minute of doing this, things are fine. After that it will start to repeatedly disconnect and reconnect - exactly the problem I was having way back when I raised the issue in these forums (the thread has long since disappeared).
So firstly you should know that problem strangely went away. It's the type of thing that happens ever so infrequently. When it happened last it happened lots, then gone for months. I had already closed my ticket with Oculus and started to panic when it started happening during my recent Alien Isolation jaunt.
Noticing that it was immediately fixed by restarting the service leads me to believe that whenever it's happening, it's definitely software related. Don't bother jiggling your cables or restarting it over and over. That probably just ends up forcing the software to restart itself. Instead, work on the software first. Restart the service, make sure the whole thing hasn't gone corrupted, reinstall etc.
