One clone I'd really like

I'd really like a blue wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus) in the game.

It's such a ubiquitous African ungulate that I'm surprised that it was not included in the base game.

Ideally, I think that this animal should be included for free with an update but we don't live in an ideal world.

I could imagine that if Frontier ever does taxonomic packs, a "Hoofstock Pack" would be a fine place to put it

That pack could also have a...
Klipspringer
Père David's deer
Giant eland
Impala
Red river hog
Roosevelt elk
Przewalski's horse

There's a lot of really good options incase they do another free Anniversary animal. Black-and-white ruffed lemur was one of the most obvious, and it was always talked about on here, so I'm not surprised Frontier acted on that. Some other options that require very minimal edits would be
  • American flamingo (or any other species really)
  • Any of the South American penguins, from the African penguin (Magellanic, Galapagos, Humboldt)
  • Any other species of ibex from the Alpine ibex (Nubian, Spanish etc)
  • Wisent from American plains bison
  • Bighorn sheep from Dall sheep
There's many other options that require minimal effort to edit (model, skin etc) but these are just some that come to mind

I think the Sumatran tiger is a really obvious one that comes up relatively often. I don't think they'll add any that stem from DLC animals, so that, the America flamingo, and the wisent on your list seem to be the most probable (maybe another lion, too).

Ok so the main reason I want the blue wildebeest is because it's not something that can be made by modders well due to the face being too different from the black wildebeest.

Thus, I'd like Frontier to make one

Modders could make one; probably already have. They capable of changing animal models in all kinds of ways. The Frontier one would still be better, though, because if it's anything like the Arctic wolf or black-and-white ruffed lemur it will have some new animations and sounds to go along with it.

Nah editing all the little bones in the face is a monumental challenge.

Modders ain't miracle workers

I wouldn't say David Peeres Deer is a clone, but nonetheless, very much appreciated. Also, hoofstock pack sounds cool, as no other zoo game had a huge variety of them, and there are many species kept in captivity (monkey pack too please)

Really want Wisents for my Wildpark. The Sumatran Tiger would also be a nice Option. Way more common in Zoos than the Bengal Tiger and it currently is the Year of the Tiger, so maybe we'll see it this Year

I'm the last person to unnecessarily praise the modding community but as far as modelling goes they've done some phenomenal work, and making the black wildbeest into a blue wildebeest would almost certainly be on the "easy" end of the scale for them. They turned caimans into passable models of fish! Sure, they move terribly in an immersion-breaking way, but they look the part without a doubt.

I was just rambling in terms of a hoofstock pack. I chose it because it goes well with other Chinese animals and it has a cool conservation story

Some "clones" i would like are:

1. Brazilian tapir
2. Blue wildebeast
3. Sumatran tiger
4. American black bear
5. Yacare caiman
6. Andean flamingo
7. Greater rhea
8. Red fox
9. Big horn sheep
10. Nile crocodile
11. Megallanic penguin
12. Dromedary camel
13. Guanaco
14. Ground pangolin

Also a blue wildebeast has been made my modders and it looks really good, but i also would like an official one.

Overall I think we should be careful with the word 'Clone'. Some people take it very literally others see it as a more broad term. One of the few animals people can agree on being an obvious clone is the Malayan Tapir and most people don't like that because it is a clone.
Yeah but there isn't really a better alternative to the word 'clone' for this sort of thing. I call the Malayan tapir a 'reskin' because that's all it is, and although the definition of clone would be an exact copy with no changes, it's generally used here to refer to animals that require minimal changes to the base model.
