One more jump

"If I take one more hyperspace jump Mr. Frodo, I will be as far from home as I have ever been."

I know for you galactic trailblazers, it doesn't seem very far, and most likely by the time I get back, it won't seem quite so far either. I bet when Samwise got back from Mordor, that one more step being a distant memory did not seem like so much either. But in the here and now, this hobbit is tingling with anticipation.

To all the CMDRS that have come this far, and much farther. To all the CMDRS that have not yet left the bubble, but may someday make their own treks to BP and the unknown. This jump is for you.

"I cast my will in to the void, and take that next step towards The Abyss."

Doesn't matter if it's 1,000 or 10,000 or 65,000. There's always moments when you have that one jump ahead of you. Thanks for this one. o7

(I keep hearing Pippin sing 'home is behind, the world ahead' ever since Distant Worlds left Sagittarius A*.)

My personal furthest distance from Sol is only as far as the Orion Nebula. 1400ly or so? Lol keep going CMDR!

I'm already heading home, be it the long way round not direct. Lol

I'm coming up on my furthest distance, and may well exceed it tonight.

Last trip out I reached 34k ly from sol. I did a few hundred ly excursion to pip over the 34k mark before heading home.

Maybe we will meet ups out there in da black somewhere. I salute you Commander. And now that I have seen you have a blog I got to check it out. :p

Well, my personal distance record before Distant Worlds was like 500Ly so no reason to feel small about it.. :D

True that is. Whereabouts are you now?

HA! I had not thought of that song until you mentioned it but now I've got to add it to my playlist

That too is an amazing trip. I love the Orion Nebula. If you want to go the long way home, may I recommend CD-26-1339? It is a bit out of your way, but well worth the trip. Perhaps the most stunning system I have visited to date, gorgeous screen shots abound in that system. And a few surprises ^^

Thankyou. The blog is a bit out of date - I will start writing more frequently once I am on the return journey from Beagle Point. Right now I'm very much in traveller mode, although as we head across the void I may need to pen some thoughts to keep myself sane!
