It would be very amusing if the corvette purchase rule (for either faction) would be to hold rank in only one faction. Anyone holding rank in both would be disqualified, as they would be deemed untrustworthy.

To be honest, if they make a great missions system that has that kind of set up, I would happily clear my save. Sounds fun.

nice. looks like a overgrown anaconda.
I'm going to start working on my federation standing. Bet that thing will be EXPENSIVE to outfit properly. and probably cost at least 300 mil.
