One of these days I'm going to "Pirate Forward"!

"Pirating Forward"

Defination: The act of interdicting commanders and instead of stealing from them, dumping valuable goods and encouraging them to help themselves. Tell them if they don't help them selves, that you will be offended and may even shoot them!

Will be such fun one day when I've run out of other things to do.

PS: If anyone's done this before, then I'm a fan. Tell me how it went!

:D

People have "Robin Hooded" before - pirated stuff (either NPC or CMDR), flown to Newbie Space and dumped it for a random newbie to scoop.

I believe some pirate player groups use it as a recruiting method.

For a time I was interdicting wanted pirates in a Cobra and dumping vegetables...

Not that much valuable goods, but close enough. :)

I prefer the "V for Vendetta" approach.

You find a cmdr that bothers nobody, plays by the rules, and basically take them hostage; forcing them to Pirate for their own life preservation.

After a while they will grow to appreciate all you did for them, and realize they were playing the game all wrong.

And thus, a liberated Pirate is born.

I've wanted to do something like this with friends before. Go to newbie space (where even IS newbie space anyway? I genuinely forget) and interdict Sidewinders. After doing so (preferably in my big and scary Python), I'll ask them what they think so far, ask if they have questions, then teach them to use their cargo scoop. With a piece of Painite I'll have mined beforehand.

I think it would not only be funny (scaring them crapless then helping them? GOD yes), but it'd certainly give newbies something positive to consider.

Not 100% on topic but: I shared a tonne or two of Centauri Mega Gin (Xmas present) with an old CMDR friend last week when our paths (re-)crossed in TZ Arietis. No "take the gin or die!" threats were made, & none needed........there was nearly 'a problem' (hardpoints deployed) when he shared a tonne or two of biowaste with me in return though :)
