One shot kill?

Got interdicted today in my newly bought T7. Dropped out of SC and submitted to the interdiction as I knew I couldn't outrun whatever it was that was interdicting me. Boosted straight away then BOOM! dead. One shot and I was dead, not even an "you are under attack, you are under attack". Just dead. What the hell is so powerful in this game that they can pull you out of SC and kill you in one shot and whatever it is it needs sorted out because that was just ridiculous. No evading, no boosting again, just dead. It went through shields, hull, everything. Left with 1000 CR and either a new T7 or a Sidewinder, I mean what the hell!

Did the "you're dead screen" indicate whether you had been killed by a commander? (not asking for the name, please don't post it due to the rule on naming and shaming)

Was it a bog standard T7? I'm wondering of you had some strange conjunction of boosting raising your heat levels to critical really quickly and a flukey NPC shot that knocked your Power Plant out at the peak of your heat, maybe even just as you hit Boost a second time? Still, you would probably have seen some kind of overheating warning. Next time, double-tap Xbox and hit "Record This" and you'll get the previous 30 seconds to look at in Upload. Some forensic fast forwarding might show you a flash of Plasma Accelerator. Or a glimpse of Thargoid...

Hi Robert, no it was solo. I had been interdicted a few times and took damage to shields but was able to evade and get back to a dock to repair etc but this time it went as follows:

Interdicted
Slowed to submit
Dropped out of SC
Boosted
Dead.. not even an "under attack" warning, just "You're Dead"

See I'm not a sore loser, but I'm kind of this time because I didn't even have a chance to see what was interdicting me. I didn't even get a "you are under attack" warning. I was literally out of SC about 3 seconds and I was dead. I don't think this is fair to be honest, if you don't have a chance to evade or defend yourself at least to some extent then whats the point of having interdictions of this type in the game.

@TriumphANT - Nah bud I used quite a lot of millions upgrading shields etc. That was my first thought, Plasma Accelerator but it wouldn't have went through shields and hull of a T-7.....well...I don't think so anyway.

Had the same thing happen to a friend his first time out in his T9. Had shields and still got 2 shotted by a NPC.Poor guy didn't have enough for insurance.

This kind of strange behavior can happen if your internet connection to the game goes south on you, and what you are seeing from your cockpit is not the same thing that the game is seeing in regards to your ship's health. Some in Open Play have reported similar incidents but in these cases, they had witnesses who described the blown up player's ship as spinning around, flying into things at a station and other behavior that the pilot of the ship in question never saw from their perspective.

All they saw was a sudden explosion and DEAD, with no warnings or anything.

Not saying this is what happened, but it could very well have been a connection issue caused loss of your ship.

And I agree with others here, that there is nothing NORMAL in this game that could have caused you to blow up with no warning at all. Even the most powerful weapons in the game take a couple of hits to bring down a ship like a T7.

Nah, it was a wing of rogue asteroids that are getting revenge for all their relatives being killed by miners. They plan the trap very carefully; one interdicts their victim, and pulls them out of SC straight into a dense mini-field of other, massive asteroids, and their victim then slams into them and explodes.

I had a similar thing in a combat zone in my vulture that has A sheilds and all A shield boosters but it was two really close togther booms and i was dead. Ive gone toe to toe with an anaconda pleanty of times and not been taken down like this there wasnt even anyone on my radar attacking me at the time...lost close to 3 mill in bonds

Worth having some kind of recording set-up, e.g., ShadowPlay if you have GeForce, as a "black box", so you can see in replay what you might have missed in real time. Helps also if it was a bug that caused it and you need some form of proof if you want to raise a ticket with FD.

This is the xbox forum mate. We all have 5 minute game recording built-in.

This is an issue of lag, this can occur in solo or open. Best bet reset your router if you normally have good net, plug in Xbox rather than wifi. New router, I had this happen on PC beta once. Its a T7 thankfully not an expensive rebuy.

Sorry this happened to you bub. Its very common for gamers to blame devs for issues that can be resolved with better net setup, my net is fast and I've spend hundreds of hours in combat, and trading and exploring and this hasn't happened, but when I was doing PC beta I had slower net, bad gear from provider.

Just my two cents.
