Hardware & Technical One step forward 2 steps bac latest mac update

I'd never buy a Mac.

There's literally no up side to owning one, apart from their stuff looks good.

Lol

That, and you can't play ED:H on a Mac.
So what's the point? :p

The only use I have for PCs is games. I do all of my serious stuff (engineering/programming) on a iMac.

But I'll say that I wouldn't suggest buying a Mac to play games on. :)

Agreed, we have about 5 Macs - none of them for games. i7/1070 based PC with Rift for ED :)

For my part I prefer the world of PCs. MAC is too exotic

I have too many Unix tools that I use. Before I could afford to get my gamer (see sig), I had a 3-in-one machine: My 27" iMac with windows, OS10, and X11 on it. :)

I actually started this game on my iMac, but moved over to my PC after getting that. I couldn't play Horizons on my iMac.

TBH I think I really started to dislike Windows when I had to design/write low level drivers for SCSI storage devices. Back then you had access to kernel level stuff and in my experience that stuff was just junk thrown together and then debugged to functionality. I'm sure it's gotten better (or at least I hope it has) than back then but that stuff still leaves a bad taste.

But...with the death of Steve, Apple isn't what it used to be, in that now they are releasing products before they are ready, and are not developing any innovative products products anymore. But then that's a bit hard to do when the genius behind all of the innovation dies. Hopefully my current I7-based iMac (and my Alienware) will last me until I no longer need a 'puter. :)
