This happened last night:
I entered Altair in my cobra and was heading to the station, while attentively checking for hollow squares. One of these appeared in front of me. Opened the contacts panel. One asp, couple fed sec, a FAS and something else that didn´t need my attention. Of course I selected the FAS and voilá, that was the human. I selected it right on time to see how it started maneouvering so it could jump on me as soon as I passed by. I decided to opt for something other than the usual anxious, mindless run towrds the station. So, I just reduced my speed and waited, watching him as he was (most probably) waiting for me to appear in front of him. I had time to quietly check his cmdr´s name and the build in his ship, and kept waiting for some more seconds. Another hollow square had appeared in my scanner by then. Things were getting interesting, but I didn´t have much to lose. My smuggling cobra, 8 tons of onionhead (I support the study because, you know) and may be a little bit of my pride. Suddenly the FAS started shaking and a moments later all that remained was its wake.
What had happened? Was it that the second cmdr that had appeared in the scene had interdicted my probable hunter? Had he be hunted instead? I´ll never know for sure, but this seemed logical to me. It was quite exhilarating. Not only had I evaded the danger, but my "hunter" had become hunted, lol.
Thinking in retrospect, I could have followed the wake and may be help kill the blocker. But it´s ok. I could deliver 8 more tons for the good of science and for the good of the human spirit.
Thanks to the commanders who fight the blockade. Hopefully the galaxy will provide me with the opportunity to give you back someday
