If you have entered your birthday on your account then you will commonly get a discount code by e-mail for your birthday but no guarantees.
Those are discount codes for "any digital product" so it won't help with physical goodies.
I've been around here about 2 years now. I've hardly ever seen coupons or discount codes for the store. Occasionally there is a sale, often but not always coinciding with a steam sale. Coupons on the other hand, not seen any of those apart from the aforementioned birthday codes really.
Not saying there aren't any but I am saying they are rare.
