Here's an idea for something you can sell on the store. Different weapon colors or animations (it would change nothing about the weapon's performance, only the visuals). Obviously this would mainly be applicable to energy weapons.
I know I'd pony up to get a new color of laser faster than I'd pay for a new skin - I see the lasers a million times a day, I see my skin rarely. The other thing that would be neat are different animations & sounds, again keeping the actual damage and performance constant, so it's not a play-to-win thing, just something cool to spice things up a bit rather than listen to the same laser sound you've heard since you were in a sidewinder.
I'd definitely buy many of them so I could swap around and get some variety.
