Costs a pretty penny and seems to draw significant power.

You will definitely notice the refresh rate. 60 to 120Hz is in your face. 120 to 144Hz... not so much.Nice seeing these 4k monitors with higher refresh rate come out. I don't think I will be able to see the difference in refresh rate but for those who can it's very nice.
I would on the other hand like to see a bit bigger monitors come out with these specs, minimum 32inch would be nice. But then comes the issue with the computer being able to power a beast monitor like that.
Oh well, one can dream about the setup that would satisfy me in the future.
$ 2000 for a screen?
At this price I prefer to buy a computer

it's a hell of a screen, though.
Yes it's safe but for the price I prefer the computer
And here I am, happy with my humble 27" G-Master GE2788HS.
Buying a second monitor at the end of the month, for a multi-display setup.
Meh - two monitors is the point of disappointment and frustration. You'll need three or five. Check your local PC recyclers - you can pick up perfectly good displays for dirt cheap. Depending on your video card, you may need at least one active adapter for a monitor input.
If you only want a second screen for browsing, Discord etc - do yourself a huge favour and buy a landfill Android tablet for about 20 quid instead.
I only want the second monitor for web browser, Discord, etc. I can't imagine a need for a third or fourth.
I will be nosing around the local area, but there aren't many such businesses here.
i wonder what gpu set up you need to push it to 144 fps with that amount of pixels, that's almost double :O
For USD $2000 I could get a pretty decent 55/60 inch 4K TVMaybe even with OLED/QLED technology if I'm lucky
Certainly will get more use than just the ASUS monitor would....
