Probably PC only. If like Planet Coaster, it will rely on Steam Workshop for player created assets.

Look at PlanCo and JWE and compare the features, and mods. One can't help but feel that consoles are holding JWE back.
There are several problems with console compatibility and at least for me, the biggest one acutally isn't the mods or workshop, but the fact that the game has to be made with the controller in mind, which usually makes it much less ergonomic for KB+M.
It's not just Frontier, of course. The most glaring example is Dragon Age Inquisition. The controls, the menus, the UI, everything is simplified to make it work with the controller. And JWE is the same.
I feel bad for console players, of course, this is not some "PC masterrace" talk. But games that are designed only for PC from ground up are, surprisingly, more PC friendly.

Case in point: Skyrim
The UI was clearly designed with console in mind. Honestly needed SkyUI to make that menu bearable. xD

Definitely going to be PC only I would say, in the foreseeable future. I think it will be the trend for all the 'Planet' games. The sandbox style just isn't suited to consoles, and they don't offer the power required.

I absolutely second that.

ZT and JWE were both done with console-friendliness in mind, and i played both on console,
but, compared to PlanCo etc., they lack the depth in favour of appeasing to casual-players (and a younger audience)

I don't mind games being available on console (i played lots of titles on consoles), but they always will try to sacrifice complicated gameplay mechanics for ease-of-use.
Then again, consoles were the money haulers, which, due to a somewhat disappointing console generation (compared to the 360/PS3 generation(the golden age)) has shifted since.
It was easy to justify a console port back in the days. Nowadays, though, i think in the long run Steam will win the upper hand and they are slowly closing the psychologic gap between consoles and PCs. Yeah, i'd rather see the Planet games being exclusive on PC. Too many sacrifices would have to be made otherwise.

Hello, I am curious if this game will be available on mac?
I currently own a macbook pro with parallels support of windows 8. I am unsure if my version of windows 8 has the direct X support needed for some PC games, so will there be a direct port to mac? Thanks in advance! I would love to play a zoo game again after so long :)
